The Modern 'Typical Young Lad'..

Ian Adlington, Marsden Heights Community College headteacher, said: “Mohammed’s death has very much set the tone for the day.
“There have been a lot of tears.
“Many people are quite distraught.
“It’s come as a huge shock to them.
“He was a very popular lad with an extensive group of friends.
“Mohammed was a typical young lad really. I’m really sad to say this has happened.
“We talk about the dangers that are out there in life generally, but the realisation these things can actually happen without warning comes as a shock to all of us.”
It doesn't really come as a shock to me anymore that a 16 year old has access to a high powered car and drives it into a tree.

One might argue that it shouldn't come as a shock to you either.

Questions that might be asked:

Was this the first time he had driven? Really?
If not, did anyone know?
Was this the first time he had driven this car?
If not, did anyone know?
If anyone did know, do they not share responsibility for his death?

Oh. Sorry. Dirty word. (Responsibility).

Very interesting that the paper states that the car was not stolen, and that another councillor makes a point about parents being hazy about the law of driving in Britain.

Failure of duty of care, maybe?

Perhaps they need not so much to be supported as interviewed under caution.

"Lessons will be learnt" - no they won't.

And BMW318SEs do not grow on trees - did he steal it from his parent(s)?

Let us hope he didn't breed before learning one of Newton's Laws.

As a typical 'young lad' in my youth I didn't drive cars before I had a licence. Perhaps the headmaster should have explained that a young inexperienced lad shouldn't get behind the wheel of a car and that this was the preferable occurrence compared to the more likely him killing someone else.
