Well, I Would Get 'Confused' After 10 Pints Too....

The court heard Mr Hassan picked up Kirman, who said he had drunk 10 pints of lager, and his partner from Marchwiel, near Wrexham, after a rock concert. He was forced to drive along country lanes because of a series of road closures.
The court heard this caused Kirman to become aggressive, telling Mr Hassan he would "smash your face in" and banging on the glass separating the driver and passengers. Apollo Taxis told Mr Hassan to drive to Wrexham town centre for safety, where Kirman tried to drag him out of the car.
Lovely!
Defending barrister Neil Usher told the court Kirman had become confused and thought he was being taken off route because he was being kidnapped.
A likely story! Who'd want to kidnap an ordinary bloke?

Oh.

And the partner? Well, you guessed it!
The court heard his partner, Paula Vaughan-Smith, 48, accepted a caution for a public order offence and proceedings against her had been dropped.
She had since lost her administrative job with North Wales Police.
It's clearly not just one rotten apple, is it?
His partner said the driver had been taking them “a silly way” and had been rude to them, and the defendant told two special constables who arrived: “I am Superintendent Rob Kirman but I don’t want to use that.”
Errr, you did, by telling them.
He claimed he told the two specials what had gone on and he thought they realised that “he was not the bad guy”.
Newsflash, sunshine: the general public can no longer see much difference...

That one really is a bit gobsmacking. On first sight you expect it to be some random ne'er-do-well.

Just the average Mr Plod, JuliaM. A f******g liar. A decadent, thieving asshole and a fat, slothful piece of gutter-scum.

Somehow I'm wondering if he really needed to have resigned after 24 years on the job. Of course it could have been just one in a long line of misdeeds and he clearly brought the force into disrepute by announcing to the specials he was a ranking officer but on the other hand it might have been a 'one off'- the first one among us never to have gotten rat arsed and been a total dick cast the first empty can of special brew. Would not demotion to Chief Inspector or whatever rank is below Sup and a new-one-tearing by the ACC have been a better use of society's investment in his training and further training?

I judge people on how they look, I reckon I'm right about nine times out of ten and Kirman looks a right nasty f**ker. It's also a bit weird that the cops couldn't spot or didn't know Kirman and partner were plod, maybe they did, but were straight and treated him like a member of the public and he was so pissed that he didn't pick up on it.

I'm with you jack ketch, the lack of a cover-up shows he has run out of friends in high places.

He needs help with the drinking.

No, the lack of a cover up is because the taxi driver had the sense to drive to somewhere he knew would have CCTV working (outside a nightclub I think) and stop there, so anything that kicked off would be caught on camera, which it was. Without that this guy would still be a copper today, it would have been his word against the taxi driver and you can bet your bottom dollar no-one in the police would have been prepared to take the taxi drivers word for it.

In fact I'd bet a hefty amount the taxi driver would have been fitted up for something, such is the bent nature of the police force these days, mainly because scum like this are promoted to Superintendent. A fish rots from the head, and if the police force has people like this at the top, guess what the lower echelons are like.

And then your initial impression is confirmed.

"...but on the other hand it might have been a 'one off'- the first one among us never to have gotten rat arsed and been a total dick cast the first empty can of special brew. "

*raises hand*

"He needs help with the drinking."

Dunno about that, it seems most of it is making its way to his mouth all right.

"... the lack of a cover up is because the taxi driver had the sense to drive to somewhere he knew would have CCTV working..."

I like the way you think.
