A brief knowledge of history tells us so. That disruption varies depending on the reasons for the movement. The Roman empire in it's early stages thrived on the free movement of people in the latter stages is was destroyed by it as it got out of hand. It is possible the West is at the latter stage of it's development. Some of the same tell tale signs are there. Particularly when you look at the type of American Presidents and senators that society is allowing into office. The same incompetent and corrupt types that typified the Roman empire in it's last years. Same policies to immigrant groups as well.
