So, Let Me Get This Straight...

...on the one hand, if you are one type of 'vulnerable' - the mentally disabled - the authorities don't care that you are driven to suicide.

On the other, if you're another type - the elderly - the authorities will hound your 'persecutor' through the courts, even when the main witnesses for the prosecution can't get their story straight:
Under cross examination paramedics Colin Barwise and Kevin Tuft were asked if they had discussed the case together, one replied 'yes' and the other 'no'.

It was also discovered Mr Tuft had failed to recall properly which nurse was assisting Mrs Patson.
Hard to see why the prosecution failed, isn't it?

A lot harder to see why it went forward in the first instance...

  1. Are you sure the reason is the differences between 'victims'; I rather thought it was down to the differences between the accused.

    Best regards

  2. The more I consider this country the more I wonder if we need a minister for common sense. Then I look at the current crop of politicians and I despair.

You may well be onto something there...

He'd have very little to do!

  4. Sounds like a case where the Crown Prosecution Service did not have much evidence, but they decided to run it anyway. Possibly because it met some 'target'

Odd, isn't it? Perhaps they treat public sector 'crimes' a little more harshly than others?
