There must be a competition going in Westminster - who can come up with a sure-fire scheme to make MPs even
more unpopular than they already
are:
Members of parliament are demanding extra allowances to pay for record petrol prices and rising road taxes, while voters struggle to meet the rising costs of motoring.
The parliamentary panel reviewing MPs’ expenses has received a barrage of complaints that the allowance for using their cars on constituency duty is “ridiculous”.
I think the public would agree with you there, but not for the reasons you might think....
Nick Harvey, defence spokesman for the Liberal Democrats, said MPs acknowledged that any increase would trigger a bitter public backlash, but he added: “A lot of MPs are fed up with the system."
Oh, I don't think they'll have much to worry about. They aren't likely to be MPs much longer...
Trust me, they'll always be be a continued interest from toffs in making as much money as they can for as long as they can at others' expense.
ReplyDeleteOf course, you support some of these people.
What's Fascism called these days ? Neo Conservatism ?
In case you're not sure, you'll be the slightly geeky one in the blue suit "gainfully employed" and setting the standard in these matters since Pontius was a Pilate.

"What's Fascism called these days ? Neo Conservatism ?"
ReplyDeleteThought it was called same as it always is, 'facism'.
Though I do believe New Labour is making an enthusiastic bid for the label...
Oh, and little typing tip: no space between the end of your sentence and the question mark. It makes you look like a bit of an idiot.
Well, so do your words, it's true...
