Britain's Not Working...

It was a very successful advertising campaign for the Conservatives. If Call-Me-Dave had an ounce of sense, he'd dust it off again, but this time, it wouldn't refer simply to the number of unemployed.

A quick glance at the morning papers brings us news of:
Home Office offials who could care less that so-called 'students' don't appear to be studying at a reputable institution, or have the necessary funding, and simply rubber stamp their visas

Education officials who regard shooting a teacher in the face with a pellet gun as unworthy of anything more than suspension for a week for the 15 year old pupil who did it

Judges who agree to the removal of an electronic tag and curfew restrictions of a manslaughter suspect so he can go abroad on holiday

Librarians so ignorant that they file Professor Chris Stringer's 'Homo Britannicus' under 'gay literature', no doubt due to the title

Transport chiefs who enthusiastically endorse a new electric bus that can only travel 60 miles before the batteries run out, and is so quiet that noise has to be added to it to prevent it running down unwary pedestrians
The reason he doesn't dust off this old advertising campaign is, I suspect, simple. He doesn't have the slightest idea of how to fix this. Or he regards it as too much work (and it will be - a huge undertaking and not quickly resolved) and is content to take the reins of power and preside over such a broken country.

Cannot quite see your transport gripe, but when did the sisterhood understand engines and 'stuff'?

A Nation policed by loafers who waste most of our time blogging or watching internet porn, are worthy of a mention in broken Britain politics.

  2. If more proof were needed that the leaders of the main parties are too stupid to be allowed to run a country it's surely that they're daft enough actually to want to win the next election. Many chickens are coming home to roost and I suspect plenty more are on the way, many of which caught dysentery while they were away. Quite why the politicians are so desperate to rule stood hip dip in birdshit is beyond me.

  3. I can't see any of our current political parties or indeed any UK politicians who have the will to effect the change that is needed. The passports nonsense has been known for years...nothing done. Porous borders? Border Force new uniforms? Uncontrolled immigration coupled with the apparant inability to deport anyone (except maybe white South Africans & Zimbabweans). A slavish acceptance of climate change/global warming dogma. A criminal Justice system in disarray. broked britten yes. Dave Cameron....NO! Nick Clegg...AAAAAARRRGGHHHH! But what is the solution?

  4. No manufacturing or industrial base! An NHS that cannot afford to look after its own citizens yet treats the world (porous borders)and funds a lavish executive career for many unnecessary managers! Speaking of citizens, what about the ever increasing benefit dependant claiming underclass. Local government with too much power and control over those that are forced to pay its ever increasing tax AND they want more in the form of a local income tax. Speaking of tax........what will this next budget bring down upon us all?

I couild care less how it runs - it's the 'can only go 60 miles', 'have to stop to top up battery' and 'so silent we have to ADD noise' that makes me thing think isn't exactly progress...

"Many chickens are coming home to roost and I suspect plenty more are on the way.."

    I fear you are right...

    "But what is the solution?"

Indeed. We are forced to choose the least worst option. That's not healty for democracy.
