Foot In Mouth Time...

A comment from a neighbour on the story of the 13 year old Croydon girl and the high-powered assault rifle:
Joyce Birchington, 48, said: “It’s incredible really. These are the type of guns used by the Army, not 13-year-old girls.
What would you recommend for a 13 year old then, Joyce? A pearl handled .22?

A comment from Det Sgt Claire Harvey on the news that Hertfordshire Police are letting burglars escape a charge if they tell police their methods:
Det Sgt Claire Harvey, who works on the project, says the force also uses offenders like John and Neil as 'security consultants'.

She said: 'If a particular area of Hertfordshire is suffering from a lot of burglaries, we would ask one of the guys to come out in a car, asking how can we target-harden particular properties; which houses they would pick and why.

'They are like evil geniuses. And now they are putting their knowledge to good work.'
Not really, Claire love. After all, you caught them, didn't you?

The statement from the 19 year old police support worker at the centre of a police orgy mystery:
The civilian worker refused to comment on the allegations at her parents’ home in South London. She said: ‘I’m off work with flu. I don’t want to talk.’
Well, it's rude to, with your mouth full...

  1. As I have often said before, only in the warped mind of a terminally ambitious wannabee Bramshill indoctrinated ACPO manager would the Herts Police Burglary Consultant scheme be a great idea. The lack of shame or embarassment at announcing such nonsense is staggering.

As for the police orgy, nothing new if you really want to know, ever attend parties at Nurses Homes or Section Houses years ago? The difference these days is that the new generation has to film everything on their mobiles and send them around the universe. Police Directorates of Professional Standards have loads of such films and are just waiting for the complaint to come in! Madness.

  2. JuliaM, A pearl-handled .22 would be most unsuitable for a 13 yr old girl. No stopping power.

She'd be better off with a Glock 9mm, lightweight and almost recoiless.

  3. From the Daily Excess article:

"A THIRTEEN-YEAR-OLD girl has been arrested by armed police after a high-powered assault rifle was found in her wardrobe.

    The automatic sub-machine gun..."

Well, which was it? An assault rifle, which chambers a full-calibre centrefire cartridge, or a sub-machine gun, which chambers a pistol cartridge? (We find out later it was a reactivated M-16 which is an assault rifle, albeit not a particularly high-powered one, being a poodle-shooter chambered in the 5.56x45mm Europellet.).

The ignorance of journos when it comes to this sort of stuff is good reason to assume they're talking cobblers the whole time.

The Mail has pulled the story. Never mind. Here's a copy someone nabbed.

Police investigate 'orgy' at Scotland Yard leaving party

I'm not one to complain, but nobody's ever invited me to one of those, not even when I've been leaving.

  5. I confess that when we were on Police mutual aid and living in a camp a long way from home we met two ladies who promised to visit our room at the camp and offer an 'evening of entertainment', in return for some drink and socialising.
Without putting too fine a point on it, the promised agenda was an informative demonstration of 'girl on girl' followed by a bed to bed tour which came with a guarantee that 'everybody would get what they wanted'.
The ladies weren't professional, more 'enthusiastic amateurs'
But they didn't turn up. Well they did but the security guard on the gate would not let them in.
Probably just as well. There were 12 of us in our room.
Our room was one of a block of 6. the other rooms would have heard the applause(?) and wanted to join in.
The press would have had a field day.....

  6. "The lack of shame or embarassment at announcing such nonsense is staggering."

We don't do shame anymore. Or, since the launch of reality tv, embarassment either, it would seem...

"She'd be better off with a Glock 9mm, lightweight and almost recoiless."

    Good to know! ;)

"Well, which was it? An assault rifle, which chambers a full-calibre centrefire cartridge, or a sub-machine gun, which chambers a pistol cartridge? (We find out later it was a reactivated M-16..."

Well, the story has shifted once again - it now appears to have been a replica and all those arrested released without charge...

"I'm not one to complain, but nobody's ever invited me to one of those, not even when I've been leaving."

Ranter suggests nursing might be another occupation to pursue for this... ;)

"The ladies weren't professional, more 'enthusiastic amateurs' "

    Amateurs try harder...
