It's A Good Thing Obama Ushered In That 'Post Racial US'...

...but I think there's more work to do on getting the message out:
A memo arguing that African-Americans should unite behind a single black candidate in the race for mayor of Atlanta is about to become a prime topic of debate.
Just to be clear, they should unite behind this candidate because of skin colour, to prevent this dreadful event from occurring:
1. There is a chance for the first time in 25 years that African Americans could lose the Mayoral seat in Atlanta, Georgia, especially if there is a run-off
Not 'Democrats'. Not 'Republicans'. Not 'Independents'.

'African Americans'. It doesn't matter what policies this candidate espouses, so long as they have the right pigment in their skin. Remind me again - there's a word for this sort of behaviour, isn't there?

Martin Luther King must be spinning in his grave...

  1. Far from crushing racism, using the colour of your skin to secure political advantage is clearly alive and well.

    Not exactly progress, is it.

  2. Birds of a feather I'm afraid. Funny how it's OK for others to be racist but not if whites attempt something similar.

Depends. If you want whites permanently out of power, it is.

Certainly not 'hope' and 'change', either...!

I think the left has got quite used to ignoring what's in front of their nose.

  5. Ah yes, but they are celebrating diversity! So that makes it all right.

  6. Julia, I'm shocked at you, suggesting that there could ever be any racism from the black community. They're as pure as the driven snow and Farrakhan is a Sunday School teacher.

  7. It appears that only whites can be racist. Isn't that a racist viewpoint by definition as it relies upon a specific racial description?
Oh, of course, my pointing the logical inconsistency is racist! Of to the Gulags I suppose...
Is it because I is white?
    TTFN :)

  8. When will the day come when we are judge by the colour of our poo?

  9. I did a very green one once and was quite proud but a little bit scared

  10. James, I have problems with your term of phrase "pure as the driven snow" meaning innocent and good. As snow is white you are suggesting that something that isn't white is somehow bad. This is racist. You are clearly in need of re-education.

  11. snow - white
to do with skin colour, I think not. Shakspeare decieded it was good to be white unlike the dark night or like Macbeth's behaviour.

    Pure - water
to do with skin colour, I think not

    Driven - untouched
to do with skin colour, again, no

  12. I was talking to a young chap in a pub. No, let me rephrase that: he was using me as a sounding-board for his indignation. Apparently he had just been banned from a nearby watering hole after persistently making racially offensive remarks — or friendly banter as he put it — to the barstaff.

The young fellow, who it should be said was of a broadly Middle Eastern or possibly North Indian appearance, concluded his 10-minute peroration with the sentence:

"I mean, how can I be racist? I'm a fucking Paki, innit?"
