Within an hour of the incident, on Tuesday July 28, rope-burn marks appeared around Bradley's neck - prompting his distressed family to call an ambulance.I despair, I absolutely do…
Mrs McLachlan said: "There were marks under his chin and they went right up around the back of his head, that's when we called the ambulance."
Rope burns? You called an emergency ambulance for marks on the skin, rather than take him to casualty by car or on public transport?!
But then of course, why not? It is, after all, ‘free’, isn’t it?
And this is why the NHS will always, always be a huge black hole that will swallow any money we care to throw into it….
Miss, your not going to like me when I say, they didn't have to send one.
ReplyDeleteSorry :o(
Can they refuse?
ReplyDeleteIf you don't do the right ritual you can't be properly outraged. So you MUST be 'rushed' to hospital in an ambulance - that proves it dunnit

Any you would also be the FIRST to complain if they had not, and the neck/throat injuries had turned out to be a LOT more serious than thought.
We are not talking of terminal atheletes foot here, but, as far as the operator was concerned potentialy life threatening damage to kneck and air ways.
Von Brandenburg-Preußen.
Terminal bruising? mmmmmmm, corpses don't bruise do they? The first question should always be.....'Is anyone dying?' Seems fair for an emergency sevice.
ReplyDeleteMiss, I'm sure they can refuse but they prefer to have recorded that they helped you as required and you accept responsibility for the cost of the taxi they send for.
btw Von, I once walked into an A&E unfortunately when I explained the exact nature of my puppy problem the blood now pouring from my mouth made a mess in reception. This appeared to change my priority from a.n.other. regular to should have got an ambulance here and we don't care who he is but this looks bad, happy days.
I think rope burns appear almost immediately... not that I´m kinky or anything ;)
ReplyDeleteWhy not?

With throat and neck injuries, if I was the operator, or the Ambulance crew, I would not take the chance.
Some things are not immediately deadly, but if not treated correctly can soon end up that way.

So go on, I dare you, pay £3.75 for a taxi.
