What The News Story Says...

Writing in the Daily Telegraph, he said: "Too many rural households are currently unable to access the internet at satisfactory speeds."

Failing to invest in rural economies would be "vandalism on a grand scale", the Prince of Wales added.
...and what we can deduce from that: The Duchy Originals online site isn't doing as well as he'd hoped...

  1. And digging up the countryside to lay the required cables would be?

  2. The klaxon tolls the knell of thieving Ned,
The DVD for barter soon to find,
The copper plods his weary way to bed
To nick the scrotes would be just too unkind

Now fades the dream that Britain once could hold
And all the world aghast at its demise
And where the Labour beetles still stand bold
The breath of succour hesitates and dies

  3. Ah, when I finally sorted out through all the goo and gibberish I came away with the feeling that he wants more money. As in more of our money to pay for high speed country internet.
Well he can go to hell.

  4. My cable internet connection is red hot. Brilliant download speeds and pretty damn cheap really considering the unlimited downloads. The downside is that I live in Wolverhampton near the city centre.

My friends 3 miles up the road don't have this option as South Staffs Council are not digging up the countryside to put cable in. Bloody right too.

Pros and cons. Quite simple really.

  5. Motorways also don't run to your doorstep...

Maybe we should "invest" in that?

  6. As Quiet Man says, he owns the bloody county, he can pay for it himself. It's not like he's short of a bob or two.

I wonder if permission to do so would be forthcoming from any of his estates?

    Heh! Nice one.

"I came away with the feeling that he wants more money. "

It's best to start out with that feeling. You'll not be wrong, most of the time...

If I could get the government or fawning businessmen to fund all my pet projects, neither would I!
