Protecting Your Children: Yr Doin It Wrong...

A mother who struck her 12-year-old daughter with a computer cable, a broom, a wooden spoon and her fists has been given a suspended jail sentence.
Eh..?
The judge said sentencing of such cases was difficult.
Really? What's difficult about it?
The 37-year-old asylum seeker...
Ah. Now it all becomes clear.
Judith McCullough, defending, said the woman had come to the UK in 2005 to escape an abusive relationship with her ex-partner in order to protect her children.
What a bang up job she did too! Mother of the year, I'd say...
The relationship between the mother and her eldest child deteriorated because of cultural differences between the pair.

The girl told police that her mother thought she could treat her like she had been as a child. Children of her age in her home country were expected "to do everything", she complained.
So, we can chalk up another success story to 'diversity', can't we?

How jolly convenient. Since when has domestic abuse been grounds for refugee status? Most women would run home to mum or to the local refuge. And if those resorts are not available in her own country that's not our problem and it's still no grounds for an asylum claim. And why is she still here after four years?

    I despair.

  5. I'd like to report Edwin Greenwood to the blog host for making fun of my lousy spelling.

It is possible that I am dyslexic and therefore Edwin's comments might have caused offence.

And recommending that I watch Euro-phobic DVD's is just making things worse.

  6. 'Miss McCullough added: "The family is now living as a unit. That family unit is working well.'

I never expected that my comment on yesterdays 'Is it cos I is' post, re lawyers saying anything for money, would be confirmed so quickly by Miss McCullough.

'The schoolgirl added that she and two siblings had been left alone two months earlier for several days as their mother travelled to London in a bid to secure their stay in the UK.'

What is this about ? Did she provide sexual favours to her 'caseworker' at Lunar House in a (presumably successful) bid to get permanent residence here ? I wouldn't be surprised.

It seems not to fall under any of the definitions laid out here.

"It is possible that I am dyslexic and therefore Edwin's comments might have caused offence."

Well, never bet on anything where lawyers are concerned...

  9. I knew someone who said he was dislexic so I'm offended too.

"The schoolgirl added that she and two siblings had been left alone two months earlier for several days as their mother travelled to London in a bid to secure their stay in the UK."

  10. banned, that's known as chutzpah. The best definition of chutzpah is killing your parents and then pleading for mercy on the grounds that you are an orphan
