A customer who claims she was turned away from the tills at Asda for wearing a Help for Heroes charity wristband has been assured by company bosses that those responsible will be dealt with.Interesting...
She also received a bunch of flowers and an apology from the supermarket giant.
I didn't comment on the story when this first appeared in the paper as, after the puppy/hoodie story, it seemed a little doubtful, and certainly some of the comments pooh-poohed the incident (though others had their own stories to tell).
But with the apology, it takes a different tack, and seems more plausible. As does the local politician rushing to ensure no 'advantage' is taken of it by, well, shhhh! you know who:
Whitworth councillor David Chorlton, a friend of the Hoyle family, said: "Beth has been very upset by all of this so I'm happy that she’s received her apology, which is all she ever wanted."The comments say otherwise...
Mr Rowen added: "This incident should not have happened but I would not like to see it getting out of hand.
"We don't want extremism from any source manipulating the situation.
"Rochdale has a good reputation for people of all backgrounds working together."
, but the manager needs to have a firm word with them.
ReplyDeleteOh PLEASE don't burden your manager with the task, I would LOVE to step in for him.
Me too. And I think the manager's manager needs to have a word or two, as well...
