Maybe I’m Losing My Sense Of Wonder…

…but I’m struggling to see the mystery here:
The death of leading international UFO expert, Paul Vigay, is a mystery, a coroner has admitted…
Hmmm, let’s see:

In debt? Check.
Personal life issues? Check.
Evidence of despair/depression noted by close friends? Check.
No evidence of foul play? Check.

So, apart from his career in strange lights in the sky, what on earth makes this a ‘mystery’ and not a run of the mill suicide?

  1. Let them eat cake, and possibly believe in politically motivated alien abductions

  2. Was there something else in the story?

  3. ...and now the link doesn't work. They dont want you to know. They're all in on it. It's a conspiracy I tell you!!

  4. I thought that when I read the story today. Aren´t coroners supposed to be really clever medical people?

I have a theory that everyone in the government must come from a different planet. They don´t seem to occupy the same time and space as everyone else. It has to be a dimension where common sense just doesn´t exist.

Perhaps they´re not allowed to suggest "alien abduction", it might be deemed a "specist".

  5. Why would "they" kill him rather than simply abduct him and start sticking things up his bottom, as is traditional with aliens?

  6. I've worked it out - he was murdered by aliens keen to cover their tracks!

    Do I win £5?

  7. "he was murdered by aliens keen to cover their tracks!"

Aliens don't leave tracks, except for the occasional crop circle.

  8. A British blogger has been intimidated by the police. The Reverend Stephen Sizer didn’t like comments and criticism made on the Seismic Shock blog, so got the police to physically intimidate the blogger, to take down that mild criticism.

This is a clear freedom of speech issue, the police should not be used to intimidate bloggers.

I urge you to publicise this issue and support Seismic Shock, as “I too am Seismic Shock”

  9. Just for information:

I knew Paul (and Louie a.k.a. Andrea). He was involved in far more than just crop circles and such phenomena, and it (probably) wouldn't have been aliens who might have wanted him dead.

Whatever the truth behind Paul's death, this country has lost someone of considerable value in the computing, data protection, civil liberties and a range of other areas.

He would have been a useful contributor to our part of the Blogosphere, and I had thought of suggesting it to him when we next met — but that was never to happen.

  10. John- sorry to hear that.

I hope you weren't upset or offended by any of the comments made here, particularly mine.

There is a level of flippancy that might be appropriate for a comment about a news story that isn't appropriate if someone connected to the story is present.

  11. Seconded.

And if there is indeed another angle that might make this a mystery, then the 'Telegraph' is doubly condemned for going for the 'woooo! spooky' angle of ufos and aliens...

  12. Oops! I should have checked sooner in case of any follow-ups to my previous…

No problem for me, no offence, no worry, folks! It was only that I thought you'd like to be made aware of at least parts of the very complex individual that was Paul Vigay. A truly amazing fellow — but there was no way you could have known.
