…I might have
paid attention in boring geometry lessons:
A teacher in Alabama has been investigated by the US Secret Service after he used a hypothetical assassination of President Barack Obama as a way to teach geometric angles.
As it is, I’m ignorant of trigonometry and other related subjects. Shame…
The authorities were alerted, and Roy Sexton, special agent in charge of Birmingham's Secret Service office, said his agency spoke with the teacher.
"We did not find a credible threat," Mr Sexton said and no charges were filed.
No s***, Sherlock…
The police seem to be more sensible than our ones who charge someone for threatening to blow up an airport on Twitter.
ReplyDeleteAnd if it had been the UK he'd have spent 42 days in a cell without charge, his DNA would be on file for life and he'd never be able to get a clean CRB thus ending his career as a teacher.
ReplyDelete@Ross: Indeed!
ReplyDelete@Clarissa: One can but hope that we look back on that with distaste for how Labour dealt with citizens, and not fond reminscence pf how easy we had it when not under the heel of the coalition!
Surely, the factually recorded details of the Kennedy Assassination, the height of the Book Depositary window, the car velocity & the relative position of the 'grassy knoll' would be more pertinent?
