Close Enough For Government BBC Work…

The BBC’s flagship series, The Estate We're In, which purports to look at ‘social issues in Lawrence Weston’ turns out to have been about as accurate as the guff emanating from the orifices of the global warming aficionados.

Those scary scenes of prowling hoodies? Not actually filmed at Lawrence Weston, prompting this wonderful non-apology:
Twofour spokesman, Tim Jackman, added: "It was never our intention to mislead the audience and we apologise that it appears we have done so.

"It has now been brought to our attention that some of the shots filmed for the programme that evening while on patrol were from a neighbouring area and we accept that the footage should not have been included in the programme."
Was it ‘brought to your attention’ before you aired the programme, Timmy?

Well, actually, it was ‘brought to your attention’ before you even had the film in the camera:
Pc Shaun Underwood, who featured in the show, said crews knew they had been filming in a different area.

He said: "They came out with me in Lawrence Weston for a couple of hours.

"I think in their words they 'got a bit bored' and weren't getting any footage.

"I think they were looking for anti-social behaviour to film but there wasn't many people about in Lawrence Weston that night.

"I then dropped them off at Southmead police station.

"They knew they weren't in Lawrence Weston because I told them on the night I was going to drop them off with another unit.

"They said they 'weren't getting what they wanted' in Lawrence Weston so they wanted to go outside [the area]," Pc Underwood added.
Oooooh, busted!

    Dumbing down of education?

  2. James, are you trying to be obtuse or do you just talk like that? I have to say that respect your opinion because I've noticed your commentary here and there. Julia is a mad woman. Nihilistic in the most subtle way, but still dead. I can't stand her.

I put her in the same category as Aljahom. Ammoral, inhumane and very self important. The only difference is that she could put an insomniac to sleep, and he is still irritating. Both are stupid though..go for it guys...snarl.

  3. "BBC lying like flat fish".

    Sadly, this isn't news.

  4. Pity the sad troll that has nothing better to do but read blogs it doesn't like and post anonymous AH attacks.

Poor thing, maybe it needs a hug?

  5. Another fitted up documentary then?

I live in Bristol. Lawrence Weston is a run down working class estate ajacent to the Avonmouth port area, but not a lot of trouble happens there.

Southmead on the other hand, has had the reputation of being a criminalised white working class ghetto for over thirty years now.

It has a pub called the Bear and Rugged Staff, which according to local legend are the very basic accoutrements you need to have to hand to survive a night's drinking in there. And it isn't even close to Lawrence Weston.

There was nothing happening in LW that fitted the script, so the camera crew goes looking for action elsewhere. They even bussed in some bad boys to LW I am told by a resident, just to see what would happen.

Lies, damn lies and documentaries from the Beeb once again.

    Undoubtedly!

    "I can't stand her. "

It's a terrible pity that your PC forces you to come here, then, directing you to my site when you clearly just want to go straight to Google for some nice soothing scat porn.

You should have an IT professional check your settings for you. They may be able to fix that.

    "Sadly, this isn't news."

And that's the saddest thing of all.

"It has a pub called the Bear and Rugged Staff, which according to local legend are the very basic accoutrements you need to have to hand to survive a night's drinking in there."

    Heh!
