So, All Those People Who Thought The ConDems Would Be Different…

…must be wondering just how, right now:
Police recruits from a black, minority or ethnic background should be allowed to join Britain's biggest force at a higher rank than constable in a bid to increase diversity among senior officers, a new report has suggested.
Recruiting and promoting people on the basis not of their ability or potential, but merely because they tick a box on someone’s diversity chart?

Well, I can’t see that turning into a horrendous millstone around anyone’s neck, can anyone else?

I’m confused, wasn’t the reign of iDave and his Mini-Me supposed to be better than that of the one-eyed Scotsman?

I mean, we’ve already had Teresa May bending over for a rogering by the progressives in the Supreme Court without a word of protest about the potential implications.

And, no doubt, soon to endure another.

We learn from Leg-Iron that, far from kicking the health fascists into touch, the ConDems plan to make the food companies an offer they can’t refuse.
And now we have this:

Among the report's recommendations to change this within the Met are that single-point entry, which requires every police officer to start as a constable and work their way through every police rank, should be abolished. Instead, officers should be allowed to start at a higher position and skip certain ranks.

The report, compiled by the Metropolitan Police Authority, also suggests fast-tracking minority police community support officers, allowing them to become fully-warranted PCs quickly.

Words fail me…

They clearly fail Boris and whichever muppet is in change of the Home Office too, or they’d have sent this report back to the MPA with a scrawled note saying ‘You have to be f*****g kidding, right?’.

In other news

A London community support officer has been jailed for 15 months for sending criminals police intelligence.

Sonuc Mehmet, 24, based in Havering, gave the information by text for money to fund his gambling addiction, Snaresbrook Crown Court heard.

Oh, well. At least he ticked someone’s box while he was here, right?

...so the MET will be racist?

Not at all: this is not, of course, "racism" since the beneficiaries are not white, it's positive discrimination.

From my (very) limited knowledge of how the police promotion system works, anyone who is sufficiently motivated to do so will not find the academic hurdles placed in the way of promotion (eg quizzes on law, box ticking tests, etc etc) insuperable. But I fear that it's just these tests - simple though they appear to outsiders - that result in "discrimination" against those who are incapable of passing them and yet wish to be promoted nevertheless.

But not based on ability, right? It's based on race. So it is racist.

    Umbongo was being ironic.

    Wasn't he?

Yes he (I) was!! And, of course, it's racist but since black people can't be racist - this pile of verbose excrement tells you why - it must be something else, something positive, something we can all sign up to: ah yes "positive discrimination". Sorry I'm being ironic again.

  6. That is likely to cause a significant degree of animosity, leading to resentment of ethnic minorities. In effect, the Police are promoting racism.

    Clever move.

  8. The problem with all this 'window dressing'is that the unenlightened majority will will think that the 'minority Officer'only got the job/promotion because of his/her appearance, religion or sexual tastes.
The Ali Dizaei case tells you all you need to know about ticking the diversity box too often.
Thirteen years of Nulabor meddling has ruined the Police and reduced public confidence in it. This is not the way to fix things.

It'll be interesting to see if Boris bats this one away with the knowledge that positive discrimination is illegal, won't it?

"That is likely to cause a significant degree of animosity, leading to resentment of ethnic minorities. In effect, the Police are promoting racism."

Everyone else can see it. Why can't they?

    "Arg."

    My sentiments exactly!

"Meet the new boss, same as the old boss."

I hate to say 'I told you so...'

    Exactly!

How galling would it be to those who'd genuinely got there by sheer hard work, to see others given a free ride, and wonder if people looking at them thought the same?

  10. I think we need a Rosa Parks Act, as white folk tend to under-utilise public transport.

Under this law positive discrimination would ensure they get priority seating at the front of buses....
