We’re Squashing Crime…

A car thief died after two burly truckers stopped him trying to steal a 4x4 then sat on him until the police arrived, an inquest heard.
Yeah, you know what’s coming now, don’t you?
Mr Machin and Mr Jones were arrested on suspicion of unlawful killing and spent months on bail until the Crown Prosecution Service decided not to take action.
Great! That’s a few more on the DNA database, eh, chaps?
The inquest heard police, paramedics and hospital medics all failed to revive Doherty, who lived in Stockport, Greater Manchester, but was in Stoke-on-Trent for a family funeral.
Hope they got a ‘buy one, get one free’ deal…

Now that's what I call opportunism!

  2. Did the coroner record death by fat arse?

  3. Good riddance to the thieving scum, but the drivers should not have been charged until after an investigation into the facts, as it is they're now on the DNA database for life.
No wonder public trust in the police is at an all time low.

I guess the tourism opportunities aren't all they are cracked up to be in Stoke? ;)

Correct. But the answer now is to arrest everybody and sort it out later. How else to grow that database.

I've an idea; why not apply that policy to any death in custody, too?

  6. 'two burly truckers'

    'burly' perhaps slightly euphemistic here?
