The Clue Is In The Name…

Mobility scooters left in council house hallways have been branded a fire hazard.
What isn’t a fire hazard in the wacky world of ‘elf ‘n safety..?
Brighton and Hove City Council is planning to launch a £150,000 campaign to remove them from communal hallways in all its properties.
And put them where?
Users will be asked to find room for their scooters out of the way of other residents or will be provided with outside storage space.
So, where will they put the mobility scooter they will need to reach their mobility scooter parked outside, then?

  1. They can not find room for the plethora of fucking wheely bins they force onto you.

Is common sense TOTALLY lacking from the U.K these days?

  2. Mobility scooters need recharging so where is the electricity coming from? Perhaps the control freaks at town hall will provide some answers (and some very long extention leads).

  3. .... and this £150,000 campaign is based on what? Have l missed the reports of people burning to death because of mobility scooters?

  4. There have been many instances of prams being set fire to in hallways, here in Germany. And I believe a few have indeed led to deaths.

But what is to go on fire with a spas chariot?

  5. Teams of highly-trained busybodies will scour the town and issue documents, advice and guidance before teams of surveyors and builders will descend.

I just hope they don't block any back passageways or hallways with their massed ranks.

  6. Mrs bruce used to work in sheltered housing, this is a widespread problem. If the buildings were designed before the advent of granny buggies, hadn't you better slate the architects for their lack of psychic powers, since they didn't include space and power points. Someone has to pay for the power used in charging the batteries, it can't be divvied up evenly.

    It would certainly seem so...

"Mobility scooters need recharging so where is the electricity coming from?"

    Good point!

".... and this £150,000 campaign is based on what?"

It appears to be based on the same H&S fears that prompted them to demand the removal of posters in the halls and doormats on the floor, following the south London tower block fire.

"If the buildings were designed before the advent of granny buggies..."

Buildings were designed before lots of things were invented. Humans adapt, as long as bureacracy gets out of the way.
