One Law For All..?

Teenager stabs boyfriend in back, gets 10 months youth custody:
The 18-year-old had just ended a stormy relationship with Stagg who suspected she had another boyfriend, Exeter crown court heard. The 23-year-old was taken to hospital with the knife still protruding from his back following the fight outside Thomason’s house in Chivenor, north Devon, in October last year.
Incredibly, this didn’t amount to attempted murder, but ‘unlawful wounding’.
Paige Thomason who is just 1.52m (5ft) , plunged the knife into the shoulder of Adam Stagg, then told police: ‘I would say I’m sorry, but I’m not.’
Lovely!
Recorder Paul Derbyshire told her: ‘I accept some violence had been used to you but I cannot get away from the fact that you came outside with a large kitchen knife you embedded six or seven inches in his back, puncturing a lung and nearly killing him.’
Well, ten months youth custody is suitable recompense for that, clearly!

Let’s hope she doesn’t breed when she comes ou…

Oh:
Mother-of-one Thomason (pictured), admitted unlawful wounding and was sent to youth custody for ten months.
Teenager ‘runs amok with knife’, gets 19 months jail:
A teenager who ‘ran amok’ with a knife in a busy Corfe Mullen pub has been jailed for 18 months.
Oooh, how many did he stab?
A customer at the Dorset Soldier pub had to force George Nethercott, of Springdale Road in Corfe Mullen out of the building with a chair.
Ah. Apparently, no-one…
Sentencing Nethercott, now 18, Judge Harrow described it as a ‘very serious incident’ and said the teen had run amok.
But he didn’t plunge a knife into anyone’s back. So, there’s that…

  1. Yep, I think you hit the nail on the head there. Minette Marrin had some things to say about that type of thing too.

  5. "Is it cos she's female?"

Sobers hits the nail on the head. No doubt having offspring also helped her, yet would have been unlikely to help him.

  6. Compare with today's sentence of a similarly aged male who threw the fire extinguisher off the Conservative HQ roof. He got 2 years 8 months jail. He did something highly stupid, which could have killed someone. She stabbed a man in the back with a knife for Gods sake!

One begins to wonder if she'd have even been done for murder if he'd died. She probably would have claimed he was violent and threatened her and got off scot free.

Its got to the stage where a man needs to be VERY careful about the women he has relationships with. Its entirely possible for his partner to murder him in cold blood and walk away untouched using the 'abused woman' card. And being dead there's not much he can do to refute it.

  8. The judge accepted that 'some violence' had been done to her. Didn't you read the summing up?

  9. Stagg had also been convicted of domestic violence on many more than 1 occasion previous to this, he will probably carry on attacking girlfriends as he carried on harassing Paige after the incident to try and make her go out with him again! Strange thing to do I thought . Thanks for your blog

  10. " Strange thing to do I thought ."

I think women going out with men they KNOW to be abusive is pretty strange too, yet it seems to happen more often than you'd think...

  11. She found out he was abusive through a CRB check which was the reason she dumped him. He came to the house when he was told to stay away this is when it all happened !
