A 19-year-old man was savaged by two dogs at a house in Rishton, sparking a 30-hour seige with police as they tried to capture the animals.A siege?
What the hell were they doing, heating up cauldrons of Pedigree Chum and tipping it out of a second-floor window?
Police were called to the address at 9am yesterday after being alerted by the ambulance service to reports of a dog attack.A wag (groan) at Inspector Gadget’s suggests the negotiators might have needed some evidence for their next promotion…
However full teams only made a concerted attempt to retrieve the dogs from around 9am today as they waited for the dogs to calm down.
Riot teams, dog handlers, RSPCA, police marksmen, a vet and dozens of officers was despatched this morning.Surely an immediate lethal injection of hot lead would have saved a lot of trouble?
For a number of hours the teams were poised at the back of the house trying to lure the dogs out of the back door or to shoot them.

A 24-year-old man from Accrington has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a section one (banned) dog. That’s going to be an interesting trial…

Operation Cluster-fuck indeed. You have to read the article several times, well i did anyway, as I could not believe any of it, there must be more to it - all that palaver for the dogs to be put down in any event by injection. Quite incredible.

ReplyDeleteIt's the cuts you see. We already know that it takes the police an inordinate number of tries to successfully kill an animal with real bullets. How many shots did they take at that horse ? We just can't afford to finance that much ammo anymore!
PJH beat me to it...
ReplyDeleteStill, amazing story..
