Strange 'Friends' They Must Be, Then....

Obama has already pointed out that a photograph of Bin Laden's blood-soaked body could be used "as an incitement to additional violence or as a propaganda tool". But it also might provoke America's friends almost as much as its enemies.
The words of Alexander Chancellor, folks...
The operation in which Bin Laden died was conducted with great courage and efficiency, but it has already given rise to an unwelcome degree of American triumphalism.
*ahem*

  1. Countries don't have 'friends' these days they have allies of convenience and that's decided by the PTB

I mean how many of us actually want to be friends with France. We've pretty much been at war with them the last 1000 years (some would say we still are, but the battle ground is the EU and they are winning this time)

  2. Feeble, I can go one better.

Mutti Merkel is being sued by a German judge for glorifying murder... because she 'was glad that OBL is dead'.

He is right now trying to get her to have to answer to the beek for her Teutonic bloodthrist.

  3. America was once subtle in its trading of justice for interests.

As the hybrid Nation struts friendless and discredited on the World catwalk, the composite of rogue banker and rogue cop is already showing under its bloody frock.

  4. I was both delighted and amused when I saw that the Dalai Lama had a more realistic take on the long-overdue despatching of Mr Bin Liner than that arch fool the hippy vicar of Cantebury.

As for MTG, I suspect s/he took a wrong turning somewhere. CIF is over to the Left somewhere. A long way over to the Left.

  5. I can't imagine the pictures are any more disturbing than goatse.cx, and if he's worried about offending people who want to kill us anyway why send the SEALs in to begin with? Does he think the pictures of Bin Liner's body will provoke retaliation but shooting the bastard in the face wouldn't have bothered them?

    What a dickhead.

  8. Anyone choosing to embark on studies in criminology will find, as they look back into the age of witch hunts and other moral panics of the Middle Ages, will find Germany has some of the most well documented and well preserved records pertaining to the `convictions` and subsequent burnings, right down to the cost of charcoal and kindling. Teutonic bloodthirst and bureacratic efficiency is nothing new.

  9. Releasing the pictures will probably rile some of the citizens of America's 'allies'.

But the celebrations of Obama's death did seem to go over the top IMO. A little too reminiscent of 'Team America World Police'.

Some UBL pictures probably will become public in due course anyway, whatever the Obama Administration and the Pentagon wish. And many pictures of dead people are already in books & on the net. So all of the fuss is pointless IMO.

  11. Shinar's, I can well imagine. Actually, no, I can't and I'd rather not. It's enough to know that sometimes the internet is Mos Eisley spaceport.

What a complete load of old Pony ..

The Bearded Ones & followers of RoP would call for Jihad, if they thought they could get away with being "insulted" by the contents list of a can of Processed Peas .. (mind you, its only a matter of time before that becomes fact) ..

O'Bummer has been caught telling porkies (yet again) and is wriggling like a good 'un .

  13. "But Hamburg judge Heinz Uthmann went even further. He alleges that the chancellor's statement was nothing short of illegal, and filed a criminal complaint against Merkel midweek"

Nice to see the spirit of Roland Friesler is alive and well. Will Frau Dr Merkel be required to remove her belt during the hearings?

I would be amazed - really amazed - to learn that Uthmann had any links to the SPD. Stone the crows! It appears that he does!

This relic from the Baader-Meinhoff and 99 Luftballonen era has demonstrated once again that old dictum: The Hun is either at your feet or at your throat.

  16. Ten years on, no commission of investigation, bloody hell some of the people who supposedly hijacked the planes and whose passports miraculously floated down at ground zero are still alive and well.

    There's a cheery thought! ;)

"...sued by a German judge for glorifying murder... because she 'was glad that OBL is dead'."

    Good grief!

"...if he's worried about offending people who want to kill us anyway why send the SEALs in to begin with? Does he think the pictures of Bin Liner's body will provoke retaliation but shooting the bastard in the face wouldn't have bothered them?"

    Well, quite!

And I wonder if all the people claiming distaste for US jubilation and triumphalism are the same one who yesterday were stroking themselves into paroxysms of ecstasy over the premature rumours of Lady Thatcher's death on Twitter?

"O'Bummer has been caught telling porkies (yet again) and is wriggling like a good 'un ."

Yes, he has an unerring ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, doesn't he?
