Shhh! Don’t Mention The Dog Fighting!

A dog with a life-threatening blood disorder has been stolen from an RSPCA centre in Coventry by a man posing as a potential adopter.

The man took Chippy, a mastiff-cross, from the site on Coundon Wedge Drive at 11:30 BST on Monday, the charity said.

He was able to take the dog for a walk after leaving house keys and a bike, but these proved to be false as he did not return for them.
Perhaps next time, you should ask for a deposit?
The normal re-homing procedures, including asking relevant questions, were followed when the man came to the centre, the charity said.

The man, in his early 20s, has been described as having brown hair, blue eyes and a pock-marked face, about 5ft 7ins tall with having tattoos on his hands and neck.

The RSPCA added that he was wearing a grey tracksuit with a dark blue/grey cap.
The BBC doesn’t seem interested in answering the unspoken question of just why anyone would steal a dog like this.

For that, we have to turn to the Coventry Telegraph:
Kennel supervisor, Jennie Hamlet, added: “All we want is to have Chippy back in our care so we can find him a loving home where we know he will be ok.

"We are really worried due the type of dog he is that he may well fall into the wrong hands which would be devastating for all of us...”
Sounds to me like he wasn’t exactly in the right hands before he was stolen…

Bollocks. They'll kill him when they after rejecting all the 'loving homes' that apply but don't manage to tick all the RSPCA's politically correct boxes.

Good luck to the dog knapping Stabby Mc Chav...yeah maybe he will send the dog into the ring but even the life of a fighting dog is better than a lethal injection.

  2. *edit "They'll kill him when they after rejecting " should read "They'll kill him after rejecting"

  3. Surely to god .. if the animal has a "life-threatening" illness, then any potential adopter should have been questioned as to their ability to care for it & an assessment made on their knowledge of said disorder ?

The RSPCA had a clear "duty of care" to ensure that happened ..

I know its only an animal (and I'm not a pet lover) .. but to draw a parallel .. its a bit like trusting someone who claims to be the holder of a basic First Aid Certificate to look after someone with advanced cancer ..

And the RSPCA wonder why folk have no confidence in them ..
