After police attended the scene Killeen later became agitated and kicked out, striking an officer, before spitting at another.
Surely the vet had a capture pole they could have used? Or a tranquilliser gun?
Christos Christou, defending, said….“As far as the day in question is concerned she was on a great deal of medication.”
He added his client had drunk a glass of wine and with that and a combination of medication and issues about her mental health she had acted out of character.
Really? Yet she was
already on a community order at the time, so no, probably not at all ‘out of character’.
Killeen, who has been to see a community psychiatric nurse, pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal and two counts of assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty.
She was given…. Yeah, you guessed it!
Another community order….
She was also ordered to pay £25 compensation to each of the two police officers and pay £85 costs.
£25? /facepalm
Could have been you, Julia.
ReplyDeleteDon't mention the 'T' word ...

Given all the money they've got, why couldn't the vet have phoned the RSPCA or the Dogs Trust and said "I've got a dog here which the owner can't cope with. Better collect it as I don't really want to put it down".

Are there no bloody ENGLISH (Welsh/Scots) defence lawers or judges any more in Britain?
I don't believe you just pick out those with the dodgy (for Britain) names on purpose, or....?
Bloody Greek this time. My tax money has probably paid for his bloody training.

ReplyDeleteNah, takes more than one glass of wine...

It's probably 'unethical'.

I suspect it's a legacy of 'positive discrimination' and the idea that if a body, authority or service is wholly white, then it's in some way dysfunctional...
