Spellcheck is your friend...

  1. Unfortunately, spellcheck is not much of a friend to the many people who think that where is the past tense of the verb to be or that there is a possessive adjective.

    Interesting word though.

    — And what happened after the assailant took your mobile?
    — Well, he stranged me, innit?
    — How do you mean, "stranged"?
    — Well, he turned his back on me and ignored me, innit? It's not right, innit?

WV backled. Past tense of the verb "to backle", as in "The bastard stranged me so I backled him good and hard."

  3. Perhaps "stranged" is yoof-speak for being punched in the face. As in "You look at my ho one more time an' I'm gonna strange ya. Innit."
