Gangs of youths have clashed with police after targeting a takeaway business in Greater Manchester.Ahhh, YONA! And not the expected ones, either, as the Beeb coyly hints…
Police were pelted with bricks and other missiles in Heywood, Rochdale, on Thursday evening as a takeaway was attacked and four vehicles damaged.
Eyewitnesses said about 200 youths were in Bridge Street and Market Street, prompting nearby businesses to shut.
The disturbances coincide with the trial of 11 men from Rochdale accused of having sex with girls under the age of 16. They all deny the charges.Gosh! Hold onto your hats! The media is almost at the point of no return!
Assistant Chief Constable Terry Sweeney said police were aware of "tensions in the borough" and that local people would be concerned following the trouble.I can’t help but note the speed with which this noisy demo was shut down. Have the police learned from the London riots?
He said: "We will maintain and increase police presence in the coming weeks to keep up our reassurance. We ask that the community acts responsibly during this difficult time."
Earlier, he said a group of youths had "attacked a local business and clashed with police officers".
"A number of local businesses have closed of their own volition and we will continue to work closely with them," he added.
Or were they just expecting this, once the news about the Op Matrix trial broke?
A woman who called herself Kedge told the BBC she had been in the area at the time of the disturbances. How nice that you can’t be identified, eh? Maybe you should have chosen ‘Cassandra’ as a nom de guerre...
She said: "I went there to keep an eye on things. All the stuff that's happened, it's riled a lot of people. There's a lot of outrage, it could happen again."
The EDL said on its official Twitter account that it had not been involved in the events in Heywood but praised the youths.Yes, I’ll bet the journalists are too.
Police said they were monitoring social media sites.
And I’ll bet a lot of people in the legal profession are already planning to use this as the basis for yet more news blackouts on trials deemed ‘sensitive’…

ReplyDeleteYou mean, a difficult time foisted on the peoples of these islands by a morally corrupt and mendacious political party in allowing unfettered immigration of a less than pleasant tribal mindset to distort an otherwise peaceful nation?
Gosh, who'd have thought it could ever happen? Weren't we just supposed to lie down and be walked all over?

ReplyDeleteWell said indeed ..
Tahir Rajput, owner of Alliance Property Hub, High Road, Ilford, said: “The Asian community is moving into Ilford while people who may have lived in the area for many years are moving out.
ReplyDelete“They are fed up because of the changing demographic in Ilford.”
He added: “People are turning big houses into flats and permission is being given very easily so people have been taking advantage of that in the last two or three years.”
Changing population boosts Ilford house sales
Great comment from Albion Lost.
ReplyDeleteMorning, I notice you posted your peice at 8:20 today. I did a bit about it on my blog later.
ReplyDeleteBy the time I wrote mine the reference to the trial which you quote :- "The disturbances coincide with the trial of 11 men from Rochdale accused of having sex with girls under the age of 16. They all deny the charges." had been removed from the report on the BBC news website.
Currently featuring at #2 on ali-Beeba's "Most Read" section :

ReplyDeleteWe still are.
"..and permission is being given very easily so people have been taking advantage of that..."
And that's not just in terms of the housing market, either!
"...had been removed from the report on the BBC news website."
Really? So it has. Well, well, well. But as 'anon's comment shows, a fair few of those reading it will have already read it. So what does it serve?
We had the Minority Pre cog crime of arresting the EDL for possible future Breach of the peace based on "there not very nice people"
ReplyDeleteWhen the IRA were Terrorists using fasistic tactics of intiimidation to use unlawful powers to rule peoples lives, It was Appeasment that Livingstone invited them to London,Or when the thrid reich did the same invading Poland and there was those who remembered the great war didn't want to see another generation in trench warfare, they were Appeasers,Unless the EDl incite religous hatred or we have knowledge they're going to attempt to, it's not appeasing to ALoow a democratic protest , it's facistic in banning it.
If any onther country in the world tried to intimidate people it would be called A dictatorship, And If I'm right the reason the Police are stopping the EDl and going to such lengths, is that the police are worried of being accused racist and that they're accusing everyone who's white Working class of being racist, I know for A fact the Met is A lot less prejudice now than 13 years Ago,but not only towards it's own Ethnic officers, It see's targetting the white working class as An easy target and there's A lot prejudice toward class as the white working calss are one group who can't answer back.
Whether Being worred about Islam makes you A fascist is upto you to decide, Even If some members have conviction for Incitingreligous hatred, remember that the right to protest is democratic and stopping it by saying they're facsist is Undemocratic and also fascisic unless there's proof that the EDl were going to incite religous hatred at their DEMO, How can stopping them having htier right portoest be anything other than fascistic, it's not the possibility of them maybe inciting hatred that is in question it's whether stopping them is also fascist.
