"When I saw the moped on fire in the middle of the room I thought to myself 'now that is strange'…"

A man needed hospital treatment after a fire started when he tried to fill up a moped with fuel in his living room.
Clearly, Darwin’s working overtime…
It is unclear if the injured man was filling up his moped in his home because of the recent panic buying of fuel.
Yes, indeed. Is this out of the ordinary, government-caused stupidity, or just ordinary, Leicestershire-based stupidity?

It must be quite hard to tell…
Crew manager Craig Hallam said: "When we turned the corner into the street we saw a lot of smoke coming from the house and a large crowd gathered outside.

"We established that the sole occupier, a middle-aged man, had managed to get out in time.

"Entering the house, the living room at the back of the property and the kitchen were well alight.

"When I saw the moped on fire in the middle of the room I thought to myself 'now that is strange'."
New to the Fire Brigade, then? Don’t worry, I expect you’ll see stranger sights…

Whereas the other 99.9% of the population would have instantly thought "omigod wot a dickhead."...or words to that effect.

It constantly amuses me how restrained some people are....or present themselves to be.

  2. Anything petrol related, even for the next few weeks, will be connected to the fuel scare. It's because the MSM want to blame someone in authority, anyone. And linking it to Francis Maud's comments means that they can blame the government. In reality it was just the stupidity of the person who burned themselves.

  3. Jasper Carrot only had the front mudguard to fix on his moped which he could not do because his mum would not let him bring it into the kitchen.....Not so much a Funky Moped as a Junky Moped.

    Heh! Quite...

Yup! At the moment, it's fuel price increases.

"Jasper Carrot only had the front mudguard to fix on his moped..."

Whatever happened to him? He seems to have disappeared from the screen.

  7. Filling a moped with petrol in your living room is stupid enough; however petrol, though inflammable, does not normally self-combust. Ergo, there must have been a source of ignition, like perhaps a lit fag hanging out of his mouth...while he was pouring petrol from a container into the moped tank...

It takes a special kind of person to create a scenario like that. Doubtless, given his particular talents, he will remove himself from the gene pool in the not too distant future.
