Is Defence Solicitor Richard Oldroyd Old Enough To Practice Law?

Mother Penny Minor who went on a crime spree and intimidated a witness when her drinking spiralled out of control has avoided an immediate jail sentence.
We aren’t told how many kids she has, or what their ages are, but we can only pity them…
Minor also stole alcohol worth £28.36 from the One Stop Shop in Meir in July. And she failed to surrender to bail on July 24.
Such a wonderful example!
Richard Oldroyd, mitigating, conceded the criminal damage offences were "nasty" and the thefts were "mean".
But he said Minor has spent 56 days on remand and added that any term of imprisonment could be suspended.
It’s a wonder he didn’t warn the judge against being a ‘big poopyhead’ if he sent her to jail…

Not that there was any chance of that!
Judge Robert Trevor-Jones sentenced Minor to 12 months in prison, suspended for 12 months, with 12 months' supervision.
She must also complete 16 sessions at Chepstow House in Hanley, which aims to help women get their lives back on track, and 12 sessions with Aquarius to help tackle her alcohol problem.
"This is a spree of offending," said the judge.
"Quite clearly the route of a lot, if not all, of this offending is your drink problem. You have now experienced custody for the first time. I hope that has been a salutary lesson to you and assisted in you being weaned off alcohol."
Let’s hope it works better than the drug courses.

  1. Got to keep the therapy industry going eh? what a fucking waste of time. The thieving slag should be compulsorily sterilised and put to work on the land thus releasing an eastern european to go home (not Slough or Peterborough)

  2. Bunny

How about keeping the Eastern European and sending her to Moldova or whereever. Always with the proviso that the EE person can't claim benefits.

Or 8 minutes on the Army's rifle rage?

Sorry, just a suggestion. You can tell I'd not make a very good Judge.
