At The Risk Of Sounding Like Tevye, 'Tradition!'

Croydon Guardian:
Three men have been arrested after a mass brawl involving multiple stabbings broke out at a wake.
Gosh, stabbings? At a wake? Who could do such a thing? The 'Guardian' is reticent about giving further details.

This Is Croydon:
A "vendetta" within two warring traveller communities led to three men being stabbed after a brawl during a wake at a pub.
Shocker, I'm sure you'll agree. It's so unexpected...

  2. Blimey - as Tim Worstall notes - even the lefties are getting fed-up with the Travelling Community.

  3. I'm wondering if the fatality on Monday caused by escaped horses on the A14 near Ipswich may prove to be related to our travelling friends? Reports mention that there have been several previous instances of accidents caused in the area by escaped horses, non-fatal before this one (not to the horses though, as several were killed).

  4. The big difference in Tevye's traditions and pikey traditions is that Tevye's traditions involved belief. food, clothing and ethics, whereas pikey traditions normally appear to involve violence. This is the reason why (before the 'equalities' loons stopped it) why pubs had signs up saying 'no travellers' or 'travellers by appointment only'.

Maybe this is a new opportunity for a new Channel 4 'reality' show, 'Big Fat Violent Pikey Funeral' It wouldn't surprise me if they stooped so low.

Indeed! It only happens when there's a 'y' in the day...

That fair made my Christmas, despite this lousy cold!

I didn't read anything about that?

Indeed! I had cause to reflect on that as 'Fiddler...' was on yesterday on the MGM Channel.

"And that pub is in a nice area."

'Nice area' doesn't seem to mean what it once did, does it?

  9. The A14 incident is here:

There was a similar non fatal incident in September which actually mentions the horses were thought to have come from a local travellers site:

  10. I see they've arrested someone. I wonder if it'll be quietly dropped by the CPS?
