Actually, Even If He Had Been 'Driving Across The American Plains'...

...he'd still have been surprised:
If he had been driving across the American Plains, Jon Maccoll might not have been surprised.
But to be confronted by a stampede of buffalo in the middle of a road in Derbyshire in the early hours, caught him totally off-guard.
Wrong sort of buffalo! Ah, well. It is the 'Mail', after all...
The badly injured buffalo was shot by a police marksman.
Lucky for it this was Derbyshire then, and not Yorkshire!

  3. PTSD, nightmares and flashbacks? Sounds like post acid-tripping to me. Not much of a security guard is he? Would you want him guarding your premises? Any trouble and he might run away.

    A country of Mummy's Boys we've become.

  4. Lest we forget, 'whiplash and hurt feelings' make far more for ambulance chasing lawyers than their pathetic clients.

  5. They should have known it was a bison. You can not wash your hands in a buffalo.

Bunny notes that maybe he wasn't...?
