“The Wire” Comes To Lewisham…

A childhood friend of Stephen Lawrence spoke today of his ambition to become mayor of Lewisham.
A childhood friend? I….

No! Surely not…?

It is!
Duwayne Brooks was with Stephen, 18, when he was murdered in Eltham by a group of white youths chanting racist abuse in April 1993.
Mr Brooks, 38, is now a Liberal Democrat councillor in Lewisham and aims to stand for election as borough mayor next year.
*settles in with big bag of popcorn*
He says his first move if elected to lead the council would be to send letters to gang members inviting them to meet him at the town hall. He says his struggle since Stephen’s murder means crime families respect him and will take him up on the offer.
“Gang members will be told to come and see me,” he said. “There will be two choices. One will be to engage and come on board and follow me to help make Lewisham a safer place. Or, if you want to continue in this gang stuff, then I’ll get rid of you and your family.”
Really? And…how are you going to achieve that, within current laws? What policies do you have?
He added: “It’ll be easy peasy.”
Oh. OK then…
Mr Brooks claimed he knew gang members from his time growing up in Deptford, and those in Lewisham “all know of me” .
Yes. I rather suspect they do.

  1. One day the truth will come out about this chancer, especially how he was funded, including accommodation, by the MPS as part of their collective corporate self flagellation and his behaviour throughout the investigation. St Doreen loathes him. Warning to patrol officers were posted about 'engaging with him' i.e. DON'T and yet here he is, poised to become the May-yorr of Baltimore...errrrm...Lewisham. They really will deserve him.

  2. That wouldn't be Duwayne “Who called you fucking c**** anyway, pigs......I only called the fucking ambulance” Brooks, would it?

On second thoughts, it couldn't be: That one clearly wouldn't be considered fit for any kind of office. Probably safely locked up in prison/looney bin by now.

  3. I wish could be a fly on the wall when he summonses the gang leaders for a jolly good talking to at Catford Civic Centre (showing Les Dennis as Puss in Boots this Xmas).

Perhaps he has watched to many episodes of Hill St Blues where Frank Furillo really did give the gang leaders some tough choices.Imagine Duwayne walking round behind them in a threatening way-"What's it gonna be Big Leroy?Do you want an ASBO?"

Life expectancy would be a prime concern; bricks through his windows, paint stripper on his car less so.

  10. Having repeatedly changed his story to the police about what happened to Lawrence, Doowayne obviously has a vivid imagination when it comes to dealing with black violence.

Never happen. It's the sort of 'brave investigative journalism' that ruins careers, not promotes them.

"On second thoughts, it couldn't be: That one clearly wouldn't be considered fit for any kind of office."

Standards ain't what they were... :/

"Perhaps he has watched to many episodes of Hill St Blues where Frank Furillo really did give the gang leaders some tough choices."

Oooh, that brings back memories! My favourite character was always Howard, the SWAT Team boss :)

"Tells you all you really need to know about the LDs."

    Sadly true.

  12. "How long after he gets elected until he's found doing something illegal?"

It depends on if any of our fearless MSM is actually looking.

"What's the problem with him becoming mayor?"

Errr.... how long have you got?

"Mayor Brookes is in his newly refurbished office at Lewisham Civic Centre, all chrome, black leather and white furry rugs. A couple of white bitches drape themselves over the furniture and his black PA shows in the leaders of the local gangs. "

    Music flashback!
