Maybe That Stella Can Memorial Wasn’t The Tackiest Thing After All…

Iain organised the charity day at the studio in Westcliff to raise money for Havens Hospices after Hannah spent respite stays at Little Havens.
A charity event! Oh, how heartwarming!

What's it going to be? Bring and buy sale? Sponsored run? Something daft like sitting in a bath of baked beans?
Iain, 32, from Southchurch, said: “Over 80 people had tattoos, starting at 9.30am and finishing at 7pm! We raised £2,689 in total. There was a real family atmosphere with cake sales and face painting.
Oh...
“People had come down after seeing the article about Hannah and decided to get her heart balloon tattoo.
Lovely...
“People had tattoos to remember loved ones who had died, some at Fair Havens.
Ummm...
“There was lots of emotion but also happiness. It was an amazing way to get a lasting tribute to their loved ones.
Well, if you say so...
“Lots of people got their first ever tattoo because they were inspired by Hannah’s story.”
I give up! OK, call me a curmudgeon if you want ("But Julia, it's for charideeee!") but hey, I'm happy to be so! The modern way of mourning is not for me...

Poor effort frankly. They could have done much better if they'd been more ambitious. Where's Max Clifford when you need him?

  2. At least one assumes those taking part are keen on the idea of a tattoo, unlike this Salisbury grandmother:

Annick Clark, who will be celebrating her 70th birthday in August, went to Whink Studios in Durrington on Saturday to have the logo for ABC Pre-school tattooed on her arm.

Mrs Clark, who is chairman of the pre-school, which her grandson Matthew attends, said: “We do jumble sales and car boots but I wracked my brains thinking ‘what would be different?’

“I don’t have any tattoos, I always thought they were horrible and I don’t understand why people want to graffiti themselves but I thought it would be a good way to raise money.”

  5. A very disturbed woman, however many tattoos she gets - allowing her to be anywhere near children is just sickeningly irresponsible.

  6. You really have no idea about this Salisbury grandmother. I have had to take legal action to stop her doing any more damage with her lies and hate.
