No Charges? Why Not?

A woman who claimed she was raped in Southend has withdrawn her police statment (sic).
The 20 year-old woman, who lives locally, alleged she was sexually assaulted in Warrior Square in the early hours of Saturday. She reported the incident to police 24 hours later.
 And the full might of the Essex Police Farce swung into action!
Warrior Square was cordoned off from 12.30am Sunday whilst forensic officers carried out initial investigations.
 All a waste of time and money...
The police cordon was expected to remain in place until Sunday evening or Monday morning but has now been removed after the woman detracted her claims (sic) during an interview with detectives.
Now charge her. If there are no grounds to charge her with a crime, charge her for the cost of the investigation.

  1. Actually, as no rape took place, she should lose her right to anonymity and be named.

    @John Pickworth

    Yup, although I'm sure we already have a fairly accurate image of what this "victim" looks like?

    Our area went through a spate of these last year, Shazza, Kelly or Chardonay get's knocked back at the end of the evening, or forgets the time she was supposed to be home and rather than risk the humiliation and shame decides to cry "Rape", subsequently withdrawing the accusation or being proved a liar. Our local Rag then published the young model-aspirate's details so she suffered the ... err ... humiliation and shame :0)

    She should. Won't happen.

    It IS 'a street just off Warrior Square', so I think I do..

    I think they were waiting for SOCO to finish their breakfast.
