Our First Clue Was When The Fire Brigade All Got The Munchies…

…the second clue presumably being when they started giggling and falling off their ladders:
Fire investigators suspect a house engulfed in flames today contained a cannabis factory and that the blaze may have been started deliberately.
Firefighters spent over two hours tackling the massive fire at the terraced house in Stamford Road, Dagenham from around 11.30am.
Ah. The ‘Nam. No surprises here…
No people were in the home at the time, but a dog was found in the back garden afterwards. She was led away by firefighters to be handed to the RSPCA and was visibly shaking.
No Jack Russell or poodle, either – a mastiff, from the picture!

  1. Same paper J, you missed it;

    "Three men are due to be sentenced on Wednesday (11) after being found guilty of rape and sexual assault charges concerning an 18-year-old girl."

    Here come the names...

    "Naeem Ahmed, 25, of Westminster Gardens, Barking, and Nabeel Ahmed, 25, of Chadwell Heath Lane took turns to rape the girl after Nabeel picked her up off the street and offered her a place to stay for the night.

    Hassan Raza, 24, also of Westminster Gardens, sexually assaulted the teenager hours after the multiple rapes."

    Surprise!

  3. When I saw the words "Cannabis factory" and "the 'Nam" I initially thought you meant to put "Viet" in front of the latter.

    If I'm correct, the dog had a lucky escape in more ways than one.....

    There's a nasty little case bubbling away in Coventry at present. All in good time.
