...you are kidding, surely?
In the Third World they have devastating floods, corrupt and lazy police, dodgy justice systems, rampant infectious disease...
Oh.
Ummm.
By the way, that heart of stone? Still got it!
Volunteers from Hope for Food have been doing their own fundraising.
Elisa Cole, 34, is attempting a sponsored exercise and healthy eating challenge to help get the soup kitchen users a proper shelter.
Mrs Cole, who lives in Wallisdown with her husband and three children, said: “I want to raise as much money towards a proper shelter as possible, and I want to be healthy for my kids.
“At the moment I am more than 18 stone so there is a long way to go, but I have stuck with it so far. I have to be fit enough for the Bournemouth Bay Run next year.”*boggle*
A few things to note:
ReplyDelete1. Of course you'll increase demand if there's free food on offer.
2. Many of the "agencies" aren't what the foodbanks claim. There are charities in there, in some areas, 200 places you can get a voucher. Not going to take someone who's going to buy your story.
3. The foodbanks are tiny. The one in Witney is about the size of a bedroom. So, yeah, you're going to get thousands of them.
Tell Debbie Bramley to start feeding pigeons in the park and get back to us if she notices more and more pigeons.
ReplyDeleteIt's all Thatcher's fault!
The cap included housing benefit payments, which are also cut by up to 25 per cent by the ‘bedroom tax’ where people in social housing have unused bedrooms.
Paid for by some stupid cunt paying the 40% rate who lives in a place the size of a postage stamp.
Hand-wringing bludgers.
Nice link under "corrupt" Julia.20 year old stories from the Daily Mail-great research.
ReplyDeleteMelvin will be on soon agreeing with you writing in gobbledy-gook claiming that the Met helped murder Steven Lawrence.
Jaded
It's an ill Met that blows nobody good, Jade.
ReplyDeleteIt is uncharitable to place you, or any jobsworth with limited communication skills for that matter, in a Third World soup queue.
"...the Met helped murder Steven Lawrence."
ReplyDeleteThey did murder Ian Tomlinson.
My trust in the police died on the same day he did.
Fat women run food banks and soup kitchens. 'Twas ever thus.
ReplyDeleteThe sight of them gives the starving something to aim for...
"The foodbanks are tiny. The one in Witney is about the size of a bedroom. So, yeah, you're going to get thousands of them."
ReplyDeleteNow, you're bringing logic into it. That will never do!
"Hand-wringing bludgers."
Yup!
"20 year old stories from the Daily Mail-great research."
The report's from July, Jaded!
"They did murder Ian Tomlinson."
Well, they manslaughtered him, technically (is that even a verb?).
"Fat women run food banks and soup kitchens. 'Twas ever thus."
I rather doubt the customers are any more svelte...
RWG-the Met didn't murder Tomlinson, the whole case went in front of a jury with all the facts and Simon Harwood was found not guilty. But don't let one incident smear all the other police though will you. That would be stupid wouldn't it?.After all when I read about Harold Shipman my trust in EVERY doctor died that day,did yours? Or only when it's police involved?
ReplyDeleteJaded
Jaded may just about impress the gullible with the above repetitious posting to blogs...more commonly to the Daily Mail...implying this non-existent functional parity with medics.
