These are CCTV images of two suspects wanted in connection with the murder of a man with learning difficulties who was stabbed in a west London street.
I spotted this one a few days back. I think the Evening Standard let its MONA/MONDEO screen slip.
You'd think the abhorrent, disgusting murder of a truly "vulnerable" young man on a busy street in our capital city had all the ingredients to go straight to the top of the news agenda at the BBC and The Guardian, wouldn't you? What? Oh.....
It has to be wondered who has the greatest learning difficulties as the images appear to show considerable bovine vacuousness. As for who is the most depraved it certainly was not the victim.
I'm working in a job that brings me, for the first time in over 50 years on this planet, into contact with the less abled and their dedicated carers.
It has changed my attitude to certain things - including paying taxes for for such care. It's what most of us would not give two hoots about paying for.
To read of someone so vulnerable being struck down by brutes likes that makes me very upset and angry.
Perhaps somebody in the newspaper has had the kind of experience I have had and has the balls to publish the photos.
And even if it is just "victimhood poker", staybryte correctly notes that the wretched BBC and its house newspaper do not play the same game.
The "news" might well be in their pages but you will have to dig deep and read between the lines with a magnifying glass.
I thought disability hate crime was top of the crime agenda at the moment? It seems that some trump cards never go out of fashion. I can't this poor victims mum being in the House of Lords in a few years time either. Jaded

Shocked and stunned.

ReplyDeleteAmen. I'm not just playing a game of victimhood poker by proxy. I'm genuinely sickened to the soles of my boots by this.
whoomp there it is
ReplyDelete"...go straight to the top of the news agenda at the BBC and The Guardian, wouldn't you?"
ReplyDeleteWell, quite! :/
"It has to be wondered who has the greatest learning difficulties..."
If the trial turns into competing victimhood, I'll be less than astonished, frankly.
"I can't this poor victims mum being in the House of Lords in a few years time either."
Me neither... :(
