Welcome To The World Of ‘No Risk’ Policing…

...what, you thought you’d be treated differently?
A woman claims she has had to shut a pub because concerns were raised about a mass gathering she was planning…
We’ve heard this before.
“The police wanted all these things put in place, including doormen, and even a fence around the pub and they intimidated Tara, the licence holder, so much, we decided to cancel it. “She walked out on Thursday and because I’m not the licence holder, we’ve had to stop trading. ”
Very familiar story.
“If the event was Christian or Muslim, these demands would not have been made. ”
Wait, what? We’ve seen that they are. And just why do you think you should be different?
“I feel we’re being persecuted for being of gipsy descent and running an event for gipsies.”
Ah.
Essex Police said they advised a risk assessment needed to be carried out in relation to the planned event.
A spokesman said: “Licensing officers had a number of conversations with both the management of the premises and the managed house ownership, and met with them and the designated premises supervisor, to discuss the matter.
“We are awaiting the outcome of this risk assessment.”
One to watch…

  1. Interesting one this, and I suspect that there is far more to it than just the Police and their risk assesment.

If it's a Gypsy pub, then either there are a lot of them living around there or it's a type of one night Appleby Horse Fair.

Yes, there probably would have been a bit of trouble, most likely between the Gypsies themselves (most of the arranged "straighteners" are saved for these sort of meet-ups) because most locals would have steered well clear of the place at least for that one night.

Plod would have had a field day. There would be untaxed / uninsured / stolen vehicles for them to check - at least a month's quota all in the same place - and once they'd done that there would have been plenty of drink drivers to catch (probably why they wanted it fenced - easier to corral them that way)so I don't see them as the main objector.

I don't see the managed house ownership objecting to a month's turnover in a single day either - no, I see the hand of some well connected local or councillor here, all as part of the plan to clean up the image of the area and chase out the Gyppos altogether.

  2. Or the establishment hired the venue and only later realised who the guests would be and got very cold feet. It has happened before usually at wedding venues.

    Good.

Why should the tax payer have to fork out to secure a private event?

What fucking planet are YOU living on?

We here on Earth know for a damn fact that any plod booking one of these subhuman gypoe bastards is putting his carreer on the line regarding allegations of discrimination if he even THINKS about it.
