Perhaps they have to actually think about the people they represent rather than importing new ones? Maybe even think about reality and not obsolete Victorian era theories which were out of date then, ie Chief of Imperial General Staff Robertson in WWI had risen from a private soldier to the highest rank. Sounds pretty meritocratic to me.
Oh you may chuckle at The People's Assembly but I can assure you that we will hold meeting after meeting and workshop after workshop until something is done about whatever it is that Owen Jones is upset about.
