Chavnames A-Go-Go!

Gran Jackie Bravo has a double reason to celebrate after taking delivery of two newborn grandsons in just eight hours.
Remember when 'grandmother' meant little apple-cheeked old lady?

Well...
Her son Loz’s wife Chrissie gave birth to Koby, their second child, in the early hours.
Then she got the call to say that daughter Lucia had gone into labour. Baby Beau, Lucia and Ryan Brett’s first-born, arrived hours later.
Nor is that the only oddity.
Loz, a forklift truck engineer, and Chrissie, both aged 28, who have a daughter, Eyva, four, live nearby in Chatham.
School registers must be fun reading, eh?

  1. Aye, the names are pretty dire. On this plus side though the parents aren't teenagers and the fathers have jobs.

  2. I don't get it?

    Yours,

  3. Maybe I'm getting old but how do you pronounce those names and who in their right mind would use them?

  4. Your guess as to pronunciation is as good as mine.

Always had a sly snigger at Wayne and Waynetta Slobs Daughter Spudulike "It's pranaaanced Spa-joolika, it's exo'ic innit...".

Here Joolz, you being an Essex girl an all, Spudulike isn't your given name by any chance is it? Makes sense to shorten it to Joolz...

  5. What really is sad, is the fact that these kids will have to spend the rest of their lives trying to explain, or even spell their names to whoever they meet - every single time they meet a new person!

It won't be easy, especially if they're socially challenged, and it's no good trying to make themselves think they're important, because they'll all be in the same boat - living with silly made-up names, and having no real way to sort themselves out, especially when they start meeting other people/friends, or try and get jobs.

Stupid parents have a lot to answer for by giving their children these dreadful monikers.

  6. My grandson has a name I hate. Not quite chavi but getting close. I console myself that by the time he is an adult all the children will have chavi names and nobody will think it strange.

I suppose I am what would be called middle class and many of my friends have grandchildren with these type of names as well. It doesn't just happen in Chatham but in leafy Tunbridge Wells as well!

Indeed! So rare it stands out...

    :D

Oh, I dunno. The march of time will see us all in the same boat, I suspect, as anon points out.
