The government is currently losing a war – a long slow war of attrition.Against the repugnant, seductive call of militant islamism?
Errr, no.
The first casualty has been Atos and Duncan Smith wants it to take the blame. But the people cutting disability benefits are the government, not the hired help. And it’s the government that the disability movement has in its sights. The question is – will mainstream politics notice?Surely the question should be: 'Will the voters notice..?'
I wonder how all of these disabled people became organised. Might they have been coached by the civil servants when they were passed on to ATOS?
ReplyDeleteBTW, this must be a late contender for the hyperbole award.
Seems to me our Gov loses every war it prosecutes over the last 30 years. War on Drugs, War on Want, War on Terrorism, Yawn.
ReplyDeleteThis is what happens when namby pamby politicians do anything.
But, I didn't realise we were at war with the disabled. What happens when one of ours gets injured? Does he go to the other side? If so how serious does the injury have to be? Nowadays someone shouting at you is upsetting. Is being upset a disability requiring special treatment yet?
Bunny
ReplyDeleteLord T don't give the bloody idiots ideas, you have probably sparked off an entire column's worth of drivel in the Graun now.
"I wonder how all of these disabled people became organised. Might they have been coached by the civil servants when they were passed on to ATOS? "
ReplyDeleteNow there's a great conspiracy theory!
"Maybe the CPS will appeal?"
They don't appeal much to me...
"But, I didn't realise we were at war with the disabled. What happens when one of ours gets injured? Does he go to the other side?"
