"They were hell bent on destroying the animal, it’s almost as if it was target practice..."
Hmmm,
you don't say..?
The farmer says Billy had got into a neighbouring field of cows and was let out onto the Exelby to Burneston road when the police were called.
“But then they got him into the field, he was only around 40 yards from the sheds we use there," he said. "He knew the sheds, he wasn’t going anywhere. He weighed around a tonne so he wasn’t a fast runner. There was absolutely no need to kill him at that point."
At least they didn't
leave his head in your garden...
If the pigs can be armed I'm all in favour of providing these rest of these poor animals with guns so they can defend themselves.
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, I wondered what could possibly drive North Yorkshire plod to all their ritual animal massacres. Apparently, it's a wide seat Landrover Discovery.
The police seem hell bent on alienating the public. It's getting to the stage where, when hearing about a policemen being killed, people will say 'another one down!'
ReplyDeleteMaybe they should re-read the Perlman principles again.
The trouble with the countryside is that there are too many urbanites invading. Complaints about the smells, nighttime harvesting with lights and noise, and this is a case of the abject terror seeing a big beast not behind a fence. So who ought to be corralled?

ReplyDelete"So who ought to be corralled?"
Rural police have already corralled themselves, old chap. Significant recommendations of many taxpayer funded reports have repeatedly stressed important issues such as accountability to communities; which were repeatedly ignored and thus never put into practice. Plod culture has long embraced self-service and a demonstrable contempt for their real employers. A contempt which cultivates unlawful actions and topics such as this.
Like most former plod, you are in denial, refusing to acknowledge the long term consequences of alienation.
It is only right to subject every police employee to some degree of scrutiny, with a more detailed investigation reserved to the working history and activities of individual 'Schutzstaffel' reps.
And it is not a matter of vengeance or the higher principle of strong minded will prevailing over corruption, Justice demands there can be no amnesty for the worst of plod in any Executive deal over disbandment.
