You Don’t Say..?

Burnley Crown Court heard Mahmood, who wanted to be a solicitor or barrister, claimed he forgot he was subject to the suspended sentence.
Errr....
Mr Holland said: “He's going to have an uphill task to persuade the Law Society if he wants to be a solicitor."
Oh, I don't know. He's got 'Excuses 101' down pat already.

  1. To be fair, it's easy to forget stuff, like the fact you're subject to a suspended sentence or whatever. I mean, only yesterday I forgot to buy milk :/

  2. Standard lawyer material. A busy profession whose members, and I use the word advisedly, often forget to pay taxes or fail to think of the law when laundering clients' money.

Best of luck with the porridge degree, Mr Mahmood.
    *cough*

  3. MTG's spot on!

Being a criminal is absolutely no bar (pun intended) to membership of the legal profession:- in fact some would see it as being de rigeur.

    Being a convicted criminal, however...

  4. I recall a lawyer getting nicked without a ticket on her way to Luton. She was married to a Prime Minister.

    Quite!

"Not going to be any good at remembering legal principle then."
