They’re Probably Used To It, Judge…

As Mullen was given a suspended prison sentence, a judge said the children who witnessed the brutal attack may have been left “haunted” by it.
I doubt it. Probably just shrugged & went back to ‘Saw 5’ on their 42” flatscreen TV…

It’s not like it was an unknown occurrence, was it?
Mullen, of Roulston Way, Blakelaw, Newcastle, who has 24 previous convictions, pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm.
She was given 12 months suspended for 12 months with 75 hours of unpaid work.
*sighs*
Recorder Kershaw told her: “This is your last chance to grow up and control your drinking and avoid hitting and hurting other people, particularly in the presence of children.”
You mean, all the other ‘last chances’ she had – all 23 of ‘em – didn’t work, but why give up now?
Brian Hegarty, defending, said: “A common feature in her offending is consumption of alcohol. She is a single parent of two children and has completely abstained from alcohol since this incident.”
I’d love to know how she could afford alcohol in the first place, since the ‘Guardian’ keeps insisting single mothers on benefits live in penury in the cold harsh winds of austerity imposed by those evil Tories...
