No Good Deed Goes Unpunished…

A foodbank worker was left “heartbroken” after her mobile phone with treasured pictures of her young son was stolen as she helped people in need.
*searches for give-a-fuck-ometer*
Miss Lent said she was cleaning on Tuesday afternoon at the charity’s main centre in Charminster when a client (Ed: wha..?) asked for help.
“A client asked me to change something in their food parcel so I went out the back,” she said.
“I put my phone down with the cleaning products. I was only out there for a minute or so. When I went back to pick up the cleaning stuff the phone was gone.”
Miss Lent believes one of the foodbank users may have stolen the white iPhone 5 when she left the room. She said: “I was heartbroken. They are desperate so I get why they did it but I just want the phone back. I would pay to get it back.
“I just want the pictures. They weren’t backed-up and I’m not the kind of person to put them on Facebook. A year and a half of memories is on that phone.”
I’m reminded of the phrase ‘If God didn’t want ‘em shorn, he wouldn’t have made ‘em sheep’ once more…

  1. What part of don't put temptation in front of thieving chavs didn't she understand?

If she needed to be in touch whilst volunteering at the food bank she should have left the iphone at home and gone there with a cheap payg mobile.

As well as the odd few decent people with real disabilities who due to screw ups from DWP have to use food banks, it is plain to see that a lot of their clients will be those sanctioned by the welfare system for not signing on because they couldn't be arsed or tramps or pissheads or junkies or other scroats. Whenever I've had to work in environments or organisations where such low lifes are the clients then I've made sure I leave the decent tech/clothes/hubcaps at home.

  2. Look at it this way, there's another bleeding heart liberal who just got whacked by the 4 by 2 of reality. Nothing cures nonsense about the 'nobility of the poor' quicker than having your stuff nicked by them.........

  3. Here's my no good deed story for your enjoyment.

I went to the dentist a few weeks ago for my annual checkup.

I was sitting in the waiting room with a lady who was quite obviously in some pain, when the dentist called my name I said that the she could go first as I'm born in the era where good manners were standard behaviour.

The lady thanked me for my kindness and I had my all clear checkup after her.

It wasn't until I left that I remembered I'd only paid for an hour on the car park and was greeted with a £30 fine :(

  4. In this case I do think that "Lessons have been learned." Only seems to happen because she paid for the phone. If it had belonged, say, to the foodbank, I bet she would have been oozing compassion for the sponger who took it.

  5. Foodbank users are clients in much the same way that railway passengers are customers.

    Ain't Newspeak wunnerful?

    1. My bank manager once referred to me as a good client. I thanked him, then asked how he knew that, as both my lawyer and prostitute are both very discreet. He probably doesn't get it even now.

  6. Clearly too retarded to actually get a real job. I feel sorry for her poor child, being brought up by a mother as dumb as a breeze block.

    Poor kid.

"They weren’t backed-up and I’m not the kind of person to put them on Facebook."

and the kind of person whose password is 'password'. What was that phrase that Anna Raccoon used the other day? Oh yes, 'did you really have to provide him(the lion) with a set of cutlery, a frying pan and a portable gas stove too'.

  8. The pictures were clearly NOT important otherwise she would have treated them as important and backed them up.

As I say to my colleagues when their computers crash, "No problem, reformat the hard drive, re-install the software and restore your backed up data."

And you'd think she'd have sussed that out on her first day!

    Indeed!

"It wasn't until I left that I remembered I'd only paid for an hour on the car park and was greeted with a £30 fine :("

    Ouch! :(

    Oh, come on! Sometimes, it's 'pa$$word'... ;)

"He probably doesn't get it even now."
