Vulnerable young people should be allowed to stay in care until they are aged 25, the government's children's commissioner for England has said.I…
I just…
A survey of nearly 3,000 children and young adults found nearly a third had felt forced to fend for themselves too early, Anne Longfield said.
She said most parents would not "wave goodbye" to children at 18 and "we shouldn't do so for children in care".Why not..? The stats seem to show that children in the tender hands of the State don’t fare any better than those left with abusive or neglectful parents, so why extend the duration?
Ms Longfield - who took up her post as children's commissioner in March - said there were about 69,000 children in care in the UK. She said it was "unacceptable" that about half of those youngsters were confused about why they were in care.Yes, that’s unacceptable. You’d think the least the State could manage was to advise their wards accordingly!
Well, it is a 'Children's Commissioner' saying it - none seem to inhabit the real world. that said, children and young people in care have a shit time of it, in the main and clearly more should be done to prepare them for life other than teaching them social worker speak to justify some of their bad choices. It is often said it would be cheaper to send them to Eton or Harrow but then they'd have to abide by rules and work hard (a bit of a sweeping statement I know). here's what could happen to them. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3166177/Britain-s-jealous-woman-used-100-000-benefits-buy-THREE-X-box-consoles-husband-away-women.html
ReplyDeleteThis pig and her uselss drip of a husband are paid a fortune including their rent and council tax by taxpayers, her diet is listed yet she seeks to balme others and is helped by some one - possibly even a doctor - who has found a syndrome to balme her jealousy on - like that's her main problem. Put her on a chain gang - him as well and make them sweep the streets. Does my head in!
If there old enough to vote they're clearly old enough to look after themselves. Hang on, a better idea raise the voting age to 25.
ReplyDeleteAnd so the progressives plan to legally infantilise the entire population of the UK continues apace.
ReplyDelete"Well, it is a 'Children's Commissioner' saying it - none seem to inhabit the real world..."
ReplyDeleteOr have children themselves?
" It is often said it would be cheaper to send them to Eton or Harrow but then they'd have to abide by rules and work hard..."
Sadly true.
"Hang on, a better idea raise the voting age to 25."
Now that's a much better idea!
