The 24-year-old was pulled to the ground by her hair before the gang of men and woman launched a vicious assault at about 3.55am today.
She was left with cuts and bruises to her head and legs following the incident outside Royal Grill, in Southchurch Road, Southend, which police are treating as grievous bodily harm.
Acting chief supt Gary Lane, Southend district commander, said the attack was captured on CCTV.
Yet there's no description. Odd...
A worker at another Southchurch Road takeaway, who did not want to be named, said revellers often behave “like animals” in the early hours of the morning.

“It is a shame this happened. Unfortunately people drink so much they don’t know what they are doing.”
These 'ladies' seem to know
exactly what they are doing. I wonder where this belief that they are untouchable came from?
The morals and ethics of many leave much to be desired as our propensity to do harm to one another being very high on our to do list tells us. Our use of derogatory remarks through to wholesale murder points to us not being of the higher order of animals but the lowest. It is amazing the reasons we give for our antisocial acts some decidedly despicable. Over indulgence of alcohol a mere nothing compared with what we will do for our religious and political beliefs. Then there is just malice and mental illnesses. Aberrations that must be present in all who do bad things to some degree. Violence in self defence is perhaps the one time that violence can be condoned but not if it is excessive. If we are to act like base animals then no defence except in rare circumstances is acceptable and punishment should be judged purely on the crime and the consequences of that crime.

ReplyDeleteHelp, police! Hate crime! ;)
Thanks, Julia.
ReplyDeleteI can probably look forward to a nice long holiday at one of Her Majesty's guest houses on the strength of your complaint. In my defence, I'd better subscribe to The Grauniad - they'd never convict one of their own.
