The Ages, They Are A'Changin'....

Following the attack, Det Ch Insp Gary Holmes made an appeal for witnesses to come forward.
He said: "I'd like to hear from any witnesses who saw or heard something that may help us catch the people responsible for attacking this police officer.
"At this stage we have established that the group of four youths had arrived in the area via the DLR, getting off at Bow Church Station.
“The group was made up of three males and one female. Did you see them leaving the station or in the surrounding area?"
 Shocking, terrible, youths today...
A man has been charged with the attempted murder of a police officer who was repeatedly stabbed in an alleyway outside a pub.
Hang on! One's 'a man' now? What happened to 'youths'...?
Andrew Beadie, 20, of Claremont Road, Basildon and Janine Morris, 34 of Rainhill Way, Bow, were both charged on Sunday with attempted murder and two counts of affray.
34! Blimey! Tell me what face cream she uses, please....

  1. Holmes sucked at his pipe contemplatively for a moment before propounding "I'd like to hear from any witnesses who saw or heard something that may help us catch the people responsible for attacking this police officer..."
A most abstruse case to confound the sleuth, but good luck with that.

  2. At last, it can be told. Some time ago, I was having an evening stroll with my wife when we saw Melv being attacked by 6 hoodies. As he lay on the ground, moaning and groaning under the rain of blows and kicks, my wife said, "Aren't you going to help?" I replied, "No need, six should be enough."

  3. Shut up, Penise. You will never be half the man your wife is.

  4. Melv,
Everyone is half the man my wife is. She has everything a man could desire - big muscles, hairy chest, moustache. A bit like Desperate Dan in knickers, but she's mine!
On a more serious note, having been on the receiving end of assaults when in the Police, I doubt if witnesses will be standing in line outside the local nick, even though the offenders street cred will be off the wall for a time. A sign of the times, sadly.

    Heh!

"A sign of the times, sadly."

And I can't see it getting any better. It seems there's at least one headline-quality stabbing every day in London now.
