....wait, my mistake. 402:
The family of Lexi Branson, who was mauled to death by the family dog, are campaigning for "Lexi's Law" to stop the same thing happening again.
To stop chavs buying dogs? Good luck with that!
They want the law changed so in future people will have the right to know whether dogs might be dangerous.
We've been here before. And
what I said back then applies once more.
Victoria Whiteman, Lexi's aunt, started an online petition on the UK Parliament website and so far nearly 400 people have signed it.
That's all? That's
bugger all in lazy social media click-a-link terms!
The kennel warned Jodi that Mulan was not suitable for being around toddlers because of his tendency to jump up, but she bought him anyway.
What neither Jodi nor the kennel knew was that Mulan's previous owner had got rid of him because he had attacked another dog, leaving the owner fearing for his children's safety.
But he told the authorities Mulan was a stray so the dog would be taken off his hands.
What are they supposed to do, run a lie detector on people?
You can normally get a good idea by just looking at a dog...
ReplyDeleteChav grief. Make it a vocal and public as possible
ReplyDeleteThe previous owner has some liability in this. They should look at what they can do to him, perhaps a personal prosecution. If he had told the truth then there would likely have been a different outcome here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bunch of complete morons. Just because a young dog jumps up does not make that dog a killer - just a dog that needs proper training.
ReplyDeleteAnd just because a Pit Bull or a Staffie does not jump up, it does not automatically follow that dog will not maul your baby child.
Dogs are (mostly) a product of thier environment and training. What we need perhaps is a law to stop chavs owning dogs as most of them can't even raise thier children, let alone an animal.
Part of the issue here is that we humans have a natural urge to control things. If we could control everything, life would be safe and predictable, people wouldn't get hurt. The problem with this approach is that firstly, controlling absolutely everything is just not possible and secondly, trying to do so causes more problems than it solves.
ReplyDeleteMy only hope is that humans will gradually evolve into a more intelligent species due to idiots removing themselves from the gene pool.
Stonyground.
What John M said...
ReplyDelete@Stonyground - and one of our biggest problems is that we have a natural urge to control other humans.
ReplyDeleteDogs see a small child as a light snack
ReplyDelete"You can normally get a good idea by just looking at a dog..."
ReplyDeleteIf it looks like your child can't overpower it in a crisis, don't buy it!
"Chav grief. Make it a vocal and public as possible"
We saw the same thing with the PC Ferdinand killer dog case here in Essex...
"The previous owner has some liability in this."
I'm sure an ambulance chaser would be persuaded to take up the case. If they had any assets.
" What we need perhaps is a law to stop chavs owning dogs as most of them can't even raise thier children, let alone an animal."
Amen!
"My only hope is that humans will gradually evolve into a more intelligent species due to idiots removing themselves from the gene pool."
Sadly, we seem to be out-breeding Darwin.
