The Day After

And it's Mayhem. Seems Theresa May not.

Seriously, as the Tories limp towards a hung Parliament at the time of writing, against a hard Left, IRA sympathizing party leader who put his incompetent token ex-lover into the top seat in his shadow cabinet, I wonder what on earth this country has become.

I do know one thing. With Tory vote actually up, despite the ghastly May, this must be the anthem for this particular election:

That the Tories cannot do better against the worst Labour line up since Michael Foot means that May has to go, and go soon. The problem is....well, who's the natural challenger?

  1. This election tells me three things:-
1 Bring out the youth vote will result in a leader with the mental capacity of Justin Beiber or Lily Allen.
2 People are so shallow, just promise them everything for free and it will bring in a shed load of votes. When you discover that there is no money to pay for your promises blame the banks, speculators or if all else fails the Germans.
3 Remainers are so bitter that their staff and cleaners voted against their wishes that they are prepared to bring the roof down on all our heads to get revenge.

  2. Replacement for May? Well, practically anyone who's smart enough not to run a Presidential-style campaign when their personality is such as to remind the entire electorate of their ex-wife.

  3. Answer. Gove, Leadsom or even Boris.

  5. Labour were offering £25,000 for each student vote, the Cons should have countered with "a vote for Labour means you are paying for other peoples tuition fees".

The Cons said they would take away £300 per year from most pensioners, and that you would have to use your house equity to pay your care costs, and still the Cons won.

I think it's a good result. There will be no Con back-bench rebellions because they know that Theresa May will then go for another General Election and some more will lose their seats with the real possibility of a Labour victory.

The DUP will be far better coalition partners than the cucks in the Lib Dems ever were.

    It's all fine with me.

  6. I think we should have another election as the Labour voters didn't really understand what they were voting for. Where have I heard something like that before? And now I understand Rachel Riley is being replaced on Countdown by Diane Abbot!

  7. May took Conservatives from a 20 point lead to neck and neck with a worse Labour leader than Foot. She also saw her approval rating plunge from >50% to negative during campaign.

She & Nick Timothy rewrote the manifesto and forbade Boris, JRM and all others from campaigning - all about her when she is a cold, authoritarian dictator with no personality and nothing to like.

She now has little credibility and in coalition with DUP whose manifesto is more Tory than her's:

  8. I really do not GAF about May's mess as long as Brexit proceeds well. As it should: the DUP are more in favour of leaving the control-freakery of the EU than any of May's bunch.

    It's June and May's finished!

  9. I've cheered up a bit over the course of the day. Basically, they all lost - which is probably the best outcome.

  10. "This election tells me three things"

I heartily concur. Depressing future we are heading into...

"Well, practically anyone who's smart enough..."

    Small pond, very small fish!

"Answer. Gove, Leadsom or even Boris."

I think Leadsom's shot her bolt. Gove has too much baggage. Boris...? Hmmm...

    "Draft in Ruth Davidson immediately!"

Long time no see! Glad to have you back commenting ;)

"The DUP will be far better coalition partners than the cucks in the Lib Dems ever were."

They are upsetting all the right people, so there's that...

    Sewing that a lot, lately...
