Even The Weapons Are Diverse!

A spokesman from Essex Police said:"Officers are investigating after a man was stabbed in Northlands Park, Basildon, earlier today.
"We were called just after 3.35pm on September 4, following reports that a man had been stabbed with what was described as a samurai sword.
"The victim attended hospital, but did not require any further medical treatment.
"Our enquiries are ongoing and we believe this was a targeted attack."
A samurai sword! Bit exotic?
One witness took to Facebook to express his horror at what took place.
The man, who will remain anonymous, said: “A couple of fellas jumped out of a car, started arguing with two other blokes and a woman then they just pulled out machetes and started whacking each other.
“It was right in front of everyone’s kids and everything. It looked like a bit of banter at first then it just went manic.”
So....which was it?

    Yeah

    Right

  2. If it was a real samurai sword, it would be razor sharp and even touching the edge of the blade would leave you needing stitches. There are however ornamental ones that are not sharp at all.

  3. Friend of mine dropped a tanto (that's a samurai sword for broke people) whilst sharpening it. He was limping for weeks because of the damage it did just 'brushing pass' his leg. So I have to wonder if it was a 'proper' samurai sword because it would have touched bone.

  4. *Stabbed* with a katana? Idiots don't even know how to use them right. Plus, its a curved sword - its damn hard to stab someone with one of those. They chose the worst possible way to use one in an attack.

Or the editors don't know how to do their jobs.

No. These swords were made from poor Japanese steel - soft and easily blunted. They only ever had to go up against what was basically paper armor. Compared to the evolution of swords in the West . . .

  5. Samurai swords, the real ones, are not exactly thick on the ground, if it was a Japanese sword it is much more likely to be a WW 11 Japanese officers sword which is straight and is also razor sharp and made from stainless steel, I have one and you would not play games with it.

It doesn't pass the smell test, does it? As other commenters point out, a real katana is nothing to mess about with.

It's like they've never even watched 'Highlander'...

Idiots who buy cheap ornamental ones, are, however, common as sparrows.
