ReplyDeleteFor those interested, I am pleased to report that AR's widower 'Mr G' continues in rude good health and is very active...last time I saw him, a few weeks ago, he was just seeing me to my car when the workmen from a neighbour's cottage pressed ganged him into helping them with the plastering. He also seems to have a very full social life locals from the village to some of the leading lights in the business world (who keep him in good French wine and VIP passes to certain events) and then there are the former barflys, who keep in touch with him.
I know he misses AR dreadfully and will still tear up when he talks about her (which is saying something for a man of his generation, build and origins) but all in all I think he has 'coped' with her death much better than she herself might have imagined.
Oh, that's great news! She is sadly missed by all who knew her through her blog.
